Pebble Beach
Dalian Golden Pebble Beach State Tourist Resort, coming into
being in 1992, is approved by State Department as a pivot scenic
attraction. Golden Pebble Beach State Tourist Resort is located
in122°east longitude and 39°06¡ê¡ìnorth latitude.
It lies on the Yellow Sea in southeast of Liaodong Peninsula
and next to Dalian Economic & Technical Development Zone
(ETDZ). It covers a land area of 62 sq. km and a sea surface
of 58 sq. km, which composes of the Eastern and Western Peninsulas,
the open plain between them, and the bathing beach. The transportation
system is very convenient. The Golden Pebble Beach State Tourist
Resort is 50 km from the downtown center of Dalian, 45 km from
Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport, 30 km from Shenyang-Dalian
Expressway which connects Dalian and the city clusters in hinterland
of Liaoning Province. The operation of the super highway shortens
the distance from Dalian urban to here to 40-minute way. Golden
Pebble Beach lies in the North temperate zone and enjoys an
oceanic monsoon climate feature. It has neither extremely cold
weather in winter, nor utterly hot days in summer, and the average
temperature of the year is 10.4°C, with an annual average
rainfall of 650 mm. Air is fresh and water is clean here. It
is hard to get another one like it.
Golden Pebble Beach
faces sea in its three sides, where concentrate the geological
wonders formed from 600 million years ago to 300 million years
ago. There are hundreds of sea-corroded landscapes of holes,
columns, and beaches, such as "Huge roc spreading its wings",
"Dinosaur swallowing the sea". The images are as vivid
as life and as grand as you can imagine, which gain the title
of "the solidified animal world". The "turtle-shell
rocks", a geological specimen of aggradation environment,
is formed in the sinian era 600 million years ago, and presently
has the largest volume and the clearest section construction
in the world. The Golden Pebble Beach is also named as the "
Marvelous Sculpture Park".
Golden
