Ice Valley Scenic Area is located in the north of the town named Xianrendong, over 40 km away from North Zhuanghe City. Its unique scenery is no less spectacular than famous Stone Forest and as delicate as Guilin Scenery with hills and waters. The scenery here is not simply grave or simply quietly elegance. In fact, it is blessed with these two characters at the same time. The scenes vary in different seasons of a year: wild flowers in full blossom in spring; meandering brooks in summer; golden maple leaves in autumn; snow-capped lands and hills in winter.

Ice Valley is composed of three parts: Dragon Hill, Small River Valley and Yingna River Valley. The central scenic area is 47 sq. kilometers. A protection belt extends 64 sq. kilometers. The planned area totals over 100 sq. kilometers. There are about thirty scenic spots and some 100 places of wonders here. It is listed as a provincial level sightseeing area. The hills in this area belong to Qianshan Mountains and have quartz stone textures. It features intact karst topography, rare in the areas to the north of the Yellow River. Multiple geological surveys concluded that it was formed in the glacial periods of the Quaternary Period. Traces of glaciers of many sorts are found here.

The vegetation is wide and rich. The percentage of forest cover is more than 90%. In the over 1740-hectare primitive forests, you could not only find frigid mountainous area plants, but also view tens of subtropical plants such as precious medicinal campor trees, Haizhou evergreen fir, blue fruit and beautyberry. It is Liaoning provincial natural reserve area. On July 25 1992, it was designated by Chinese Ministry of Forestry as National Forest Park.
